About Me

Jolen WhitworthBorn in Chicago during the dark ages before the World Wide Web, I was raised in Collinsville, Illinois. Being restless, I began to travel America at age 16, when I took a Greyhound bound for Texas. I have spent time in several states but settled in the Quad Cities.

I got married, attended college, had two daughters, and divorced. I have held a host of jobs, been a drug addict, pool hustler, and President of Welcome Wagon. As you can see, I have a diverse background. These days, I'm mostly just a liberal Witch that writes what she sees in the world around her.

I have always had a great love for books. I read everything I could get my hands on and still do. Possessed by a tremendous desire to put pen to paper, I write in several genres and am currently working on my first novel. I love doing topical, controversial pieces and you can see samples of my humor and rants on the 'Byte Me' part of this site.

I've won several poetry contests, met a great many talented people and am proud to say my book of poetry, "Every Girl Has Her Limits", has been published and is available now.

In 2007, I married the man dreams are made of, James Thomas Whitworth, and moved to England, where, when we're not too busy living the dream, I try to find ways of giving voice to the things that touch all of our lives.

I work with the two best writing partners any girl could have, and together with Leonard Wilson and Alex McIver, formed Bad Penny Productions..
